Cosmotrans International, a global freight forwarder and Customs Clearance Agent, was formed in 1992. Through the years we have established a team of professionals who are dedicated, motivated and experienced. We strive to achieve customer care in the highest level.

As a 100% independently owned company the directors of the company retain complete ownership. Just outside London Heathrow is where our main operations office is located, we are linked by computer to customs and excise. We are registered with the chamber of commerce, accredited by IATA (International Air Transport Association-Accreditation Number 91-4 7448) and also by BIFA (British International Freight Association - Registration Number 1190). We are also regulated by the Department of Transport - registration number 624.

Instead of being by the docks our Heathrow office is where our personal are based, this provides a service level that is more consistent to our customers. As a mixture of sea freight imports and airfreight imports are often required by our customers as we do this all at one site we can specifically adhere to each client's requirements. Our clients can therefore deal time and time again with the same people.

By obtaining preferential rates with NVOCC (Non Vessel Owned Common Carriers) and with the shipping lines our customers benefit as we pass these savings on to them. We book conventional cargo, LCL (Less Container Load), FCL (Full Container Load) and AKA groupage.

We can control, through our worldwide network of agents, import airfreight shipments straight from the premises of the manufacturer. The supplier contact details and the purchase order number are all we need from our clients and we will then ensure every consignment is correctly transported. We directly communicate at origin with the shippers, we find out when the shipments are ready, we then co-ordinate collection, documentation, customs, the airline booking and upon arrival in the UK the tracking of it. Our customers are based all over the country, we save time by arranging the delivery and clearance and all at a similar price as if it had arrived at our customers' local airport.

Being based near London Heathrow the cargo section is quickly and easily at our disposal. From anywhere in the UK we can collect our customer's freight. We then export it from London Heathrow giving our customers a great service at a very competitive price.

We have our own warehouse that is able to hold freight or a single piece with a 12000kgs maximum weight. Our warehouse is DEPS (Designated Export Place Shed) thus allowing us to process export entries, once we receive the "ok to proceed" from customs we then hand the cargo into the airlines. We process licences, ATA Carnet and the under our own supervision shipments with permits can all be done, instead of the airlines.

Processing customs entry is a complex task which we manage on behalf of our customers. We also act as an interface to HM Revenue and Customs. We have electronic links that run direct to the clearing system at all the major sea ports and airports.

A way to pay your VAT and duties to HM Revenue and Customs when your cargo arrives is by using our deferment account, therefore resulting in no delays with your shipment.

By operating our own Enhanced Remote Transit Shed(ERTS) We are able to extract import consignments that have not yet cleared customs from the airline and thus provide you with short term storage. Clearance can then be arranged at a later stage resulting in no high import storage costs from the airline.

It has now become very expensive to travel with your excess baggage and it is now a difficult process with the majority of airlines giving virtually no leeway when it comes to their allocated ticket weight. Cosmotrans remove the aggravation and stress from your journey and allow you to send your excess baggage by airfreight as unaccompanied baggage. A "Door to Door" service is offered where we collect the items from your home or work here in the UK and deliver it directly to your destination.
