Precision Lenses

Lenses used in photography can be simple or compound (made up of a number of optical elements). These primarily tend to be developed for cameras, telescopes, microscopes and various similar apparatus. They can be permanent (i.e. attached to the body of the camera/telescope) or makeshift (easily removed and switched).

Prisms

A prism is very simply a see-through optical device with flat surfaces which refract light. It can be any shape, although triangular tends to be the most common. Usually made of glass, prisms break up light into various colours and can either reflect or divide light.

Fibre optic cold light source is a very powerful and adaptable medium for macro and microphotography. We're pleased to inform you that we're a distributer for Schott - one of the world-leaders in this field. You can order four varieties of Schott fibre optic light sources from us - KL 1500 compact, KL1500 LCD, KL2500 and KL200.

Our team will sit down with you and design a scale model of what you're looking for. Once that's produced you can let us know if it fits the bill. If not, we'll start all over again from scratch. We're only happy if you are. And don't worry about time-scales for your project. Not only can we work very quickly, we also pride ourselves on meeting deadlines.

Currently the main materials we use in our products are too numerous to list here (see our website on www.image-optics.com for a full overview) but some of the main materials include sapphire, Calcium Aluminate, Lithium Fluoride (LiF), Germanium, Quartz, Gelatin Filters, Silicon and, of course, Magnesium Fluoride (MgF2).
