About Weiss Gallenkamp

Weiss Gallenkamp are the leading producer of physical testing via controlled environments for a range of industries ranging from pharmaceutical and industrial to forensics and the aeronautics industry. This encompasses industrial ovens, test chambers and climatic test chambers to assess substances such as rubber, plastics and electronics to pharmaceutical stability. We can provide the most accurate and precise testing equipment available for large-scale operations involving a number of networked chambers, or for one-off experiments with small-box. Our designs can be custom-made where our experts will discuss and interpret your needs with you to design your perfect testing environment.

Our expertise in creating controlled environments dates back more than 75 years and we are renowned not just in the UK but throughout the globe. We're an amalgam of three companies - Weiss Technik, Votsch Industrietechnik and Gallenkamp and based in Loughborough.

Why Industrial Ovens from Weiss Gallenkamp?

Our ovens are tailor-made to fit your unique specifications while our engineers have spent more than 90 years creating industrial ovens for just about every sector in British and world-wide industry and commerce. Our ovens, designed to create thermal heat, can produce temperatures to create warmth and therefore drying conditions. They can also test controlled explosions and show the effects of particular doses of infrared light. All our ovens are high quality, extremely reliable and cost-effective - hence our place at the top of the world market in industrial oven design.

The Heraeus range of ovens all boast excellent build quality and corrosion resistance, state-of-the-art computer control, high spec performance and economic viability and efficiency, not to mention safety and reliability.

What is a controlled environment from Weiss Gallenkamp?

Controlled environments - where temperatures often need to remain constant - are commonly used in the plant and pharmaceutical industries. In the former for growth, in the latter for testing purposes. Many of our plant growth chambers have been designed at home in the Weiss Gallenkamp laboratories.

Our range of products includes the Fitotron Plant Growth Chambers and Rooms. This much-praised name is a marker of outstanding quality and its accuracy and reliability in temperature, humidity and lighting control, recognised by leaders in this field throughout the world. It can reproduce the vast majority of conditions required while at the same time eliminating variability found in nature.

In addition to creating the oven or controlled environment, here at Weiss Gallenkamp we also offer a dedicated project management service to ensure your product is installed in as quickly and accurately a fashion as possible. Further info on Fitotron can be obtained from a new dedicated website at www.fitotron.co.uk

Controlled environments are also used for fingerprint development, machine testing, weather testing and even by athletes. They mimic a large variety of conditions such as water, dust, varying temperatures and environmental stress. The chambers can be top loading, small or large enough for a human/s to enter. Testing can also be achieved via vacuum or vibration methods.

In our sports and science rooms we can't just control carbon dioxide and moisture levels, we can also add nitrogen to allow climbers and runners to test their endurance at high altitudes.

What do we mean by Pharmaceutical Stability?

Our testing equipment for the pharmaceutical industry can come in many forms i.e. small cabinets, chambers or walk-in rooms. All boast standards complying with the ICH Guideline Q1A for stability testing and the Photostability Test Q1B.

Our test chamber Pharma 500-L is photostable and can guarantee reproducible light, UV and climatic conditions. This is because as well as light and UV, the chamber also boasts excellent temperature and humidity control.

The chamber can be operated via an individual PC without having to purchase additional and specialised software. Archiving and recording of data can be achieved using our matching software package. A warning system can be established where the user of the chamber is alerted instantly the minute the chamber deviates from agreed temperature etc.

Our company boasts chambers in more than 50 countries worldwide. All are long-term and maintenance-free in order to ensure your valuable testing data is not disrupted. Pharma-Safe range starts at 182 litres for small-scale testing right up to a walk-in room.

Refrigeration is computer-controlled while water consumption is low. In the case of the AquaRec UV system water use becomes negligible.

All reps in the Pharma-Safe range have been trained and certified by Gallenkamp and provide a tailored service with an emphasis on support.

For those who need more space (i.e. large-scale storage) the Stability test rooms are an extremely popular option. And there's no need to be limited in your options of where to place your chamber either thanks to the AquaRec UV option. Using a series of purification cartridges water is constantly purified with no draining necessary.

ICH photostability compliance is guaranteed by Pharma-safe thanks to specially calibrated precision light sensors which can monitor each shelf individually. These will shut-off when light targets have been achieved. Similarly stability testing is also guaranteed and extended to large walk-in facilities such as the Gallenkamp 'PSR" Stability Rooms.

Our Pharma-Safe system will ensure your results are 100 per cent tamper-free. This is achieved by means of a door lock and control panel cover. There are three levels of protection in total. The main controller will be alerted when temperature/humidity/light deviates from that set; safety thermostats in terms of heat and water are provided while a power failure indicator is linked to an alarm (the tests will restart at the point where power was lost) and thirdly a remote terminal alarm will go off.

Weiss Gallenkamp supply the complete product range from the smallest benchtop test chambers through to the largest bespoke multi room facilities.

In addition to this, the popular Gallenkamp Oven range has recently been re-launched, further adding to our successful product range.

Our standard range of test chambers includes:
