Castors & Wheels
RE castors address the mainstream of industrial uses from medical equipment through to electronics, storage and manufacturing and feature twin ball race chassis in swivel and total lock variants, as well as fixed types. Twin race being particularly beneficial in minimising the effort required to align the castor in moving away from rest. Standard wheel configurations include heavy duty polyurethane moulded onto cast aluminium cores and roller bearing axles at the top end through polyurethane over technopolymer, monolithic polyamide, to non-marking thermoplastic rubber or vulcanised rubber and plain bearing axles.
Elesa clamp mountings include clamping kits, two-way connecting clamps, sensor holders, twistable two-way connecting clamps, connecting plates and tubes, flanged bolts and square connecting tubes.
Clamping elements in the Elesa range are designed for ergonomic use, aesthetic style, ease of use and competitive cost - they include : three arm handwheels and knobs, lobe knobs, wing knobs, and grip knobs.
Clamping levers in glass reinforced polyamide, zinc die and stainless steel are complimented by adjustable clamping handles in a huge variety which also include chrome finished and safety adjustable versions.
The Elesa range of Control Elements is designed for ergonomic use, aesthetic style, ease of use and competitive cost - it includes knurled control knobs, flanges and scale rings, handwheels, grip knobs, indicator knobs and control levers designed to suit industrial and public area applications.
Fork style rod ends like the Elesa FJT series are a proven method of transmitting linear control or actuation, and in the case of the FJT they are resistant to continuous washing cycles with solvents and detergents, so they are suited for example, to applications in the food and pharmaceutical sectors.
These fork rod ends are available in M6 to M14 sizes, manufactured from glass fibre reinforced polyamide based technopolymer. This ensures both very low weight and good stiffness, as well as low noise and excellent shock absorbing characteristics. Typical applications are expected to include pneumatic actuator systems, print machines, light mobile equipment, HVAC flap and valve controls and machine guarding activation. In fact, all general rod systems requiring component support/adjustment, actuation and manipulation - also in compensating for misadjustment.
Bridge handles are available in technopolymer, steel, stainless steel, composite construction to traditional bridge/pull designs and in modern arch styles. Anti-microbial and clean room versions compliment the range. Safety handles, flush handles and tubular handles also suit industrial applications as do traditional "T" types, grip handles and fold away types.

Index and Position Elements
Indexing plungers come in many sizes often to fit into confined spaces - ours come in a variety of materials and sizes with a range of features from safety rest position to locking and cam actions. Ball lock pins and spring plungers in plastic, steel and stainless steel complete the index and position product portfolio.
Levelling Feet and Conveyor Components
Levelling elements or adjustable levelling feet not only allow adjustment and correction of equipment levels - they often incorporate a significant amount of vibration damping - they are available with bases in reinforced polyamide, steel, stainless steel with stems in steel or stainless steel. Complementary items include Conveyor or flexible automation components as well as clamp mountings for installation of magnetic/optical sensors on conveyors and other equipment.
Machine elements from Elesa cover a welter of innovative standard solutions from grub screws and thrust pads to cam locking levers as well as collars, rings and washers. High performance ball transfer units and magnets complete the machine elements offering.
A range of high quality permanent magnets in sintered hard ferrite, Aluminium nickel cobalt (AINiCo), Samarium cobalt (SmCo) and Neodymium iron boron (NdFeB).
This type of magnet can offer a range from low to extremely high adhesive force - for example in the case of Neodymium magnets, making them ideal for location and temporary fixing of workpieces or panels or for sensor holding, e.g. on conveyors or other machinery. Moving down the scale applications can be as varied as supermarket labeling, locating presentation materials, white boards, cabinet door closure or magnetic filtration, e.g. of metal particles in engine sumps or in machinery and equipment.
Operating Elements - Handwheels and Crank Handles
Handwheels and crank handles whether spoked, solid or multi-arm offer comfortable control for a wide range of industrial type equipment from machine tools to library storage - they come in moulded technopolymer, reinforced phenolic bassed Duroplast, aluminium, pressed steel or cast iron, - with fixed or folding handles. They are supplemented by a range of single arm crank handles for situations where a wheel configuration is not required.
Elesa have a long background in instrumentation as demonstrated by these gravity position indicators and positive drive indicators with matching knobs and handwheels to enable control with indication in the same standard component if required. Digital position "box" indicators and electronic counterparts are ideal for spindle position monitoring of equipment such as paper finishing or packaging machines.
The BJT series of M6 to M14 glass reinforced technopolymer spherical rod ends are designed to require zero maintenance with low wear and to absorb vibration and stress while minimising noise. They have good mechanical strength and low weight, while being corrosion resistant even in aggressive industrial environments where chemical agents, fine dusts, dirt, fabrics or machining residues are present.
The series features encapsulated self-lubricating balls and are especially suitable for rotary, oscillating and linear movements even in aggressive environments. Elesa considers applications are likely to include sensor mechanisms, gas struts, rod control linkages, motion control - low power movement transmission and pneumatic actuator systems.
This operation of oscillating levers and conversion of rotary to linear motion is particularly useful for remote operation of long rod systems, e.g. pick and place assembly machines.
Special Purpose Handles
Handles for special purposes can still be found in standard series from our detailed development program which caters for instruments and equipment as well as for machines and for protection purposes. Other "special" standard handles include stainless steel and "clean" products for medical and food processing equipment.
Toggle Clamps and Latches
Toggle clamps for housings, workpieces, jigs, moulds etc come in manual and pneumatic versions, hook clamps with spring over-centre action also have adjustable versions. Where doors or panels require rotational latch closure they are available with simple handle or with handle and key lock to provide security on enclosures and cabinets for personal storage or electrical/electronic cabinets.
Temporary mounting of equipment can be a real problem, especially if a degree of adjustment is needed for re-positioning or during operation. This is a problem often found in laboratory test rigs, building scaffolds, jig building, prototyping, work holding and other temporary frameworks - but it is a problem dealt with by Elesa's tube clamp and linear actuator system.
These high quality tube and clamp elements incorporate slide-through and split type clamps, with hex headed and recessed locking screws. Precision screw-type linear actuators are fitted to standard tubes for operation of single or dual mounted equipment by means of end mounted handwheels.
For especially rapid assembly or re-configuration, the Elesa range of elements may be integrated with the clamping system, for example by use of adjustable clamping handles or handknobs in place of locking hex-bolts.
Vibration Damping Elements
Vibration damping elements are a mature and pretty ubiquitous item - often hidden away inside or under engines, motors, fans or similar. Elesa are pleased to announce a complete new range of damper and cushioning elements with steel and stainless steel base mounting.
Elesa's DVA range is formed in natural rubber based on zinc/steel and AISI 304 stainless mounts with male or female attachments. They have been designed to damp vibrations, shocks and noises produced by moving bodies or vibrating masses which can cause malfunctioning and reduction of the machine lifespan and/or of the adjacent equipment, or even operator damage to health. Essentially operating in compression or shear, double ended cylindrical units are often required to carry heavy equipment loads while on the other hand single mounting buffers in pad or conical format are ideal for absorbing energy on impact during equipment operation or perhaps door closure or similar.
The DVA range is available in black natural rubber to standard hardness 55 Shore A, as well as 40 Shore A or 70 Shore A to custom specifications.
Many of the Elesa products can be further personalised to customer requirements with the addition of colours, logo's and instructions or the inclusion of special metal inserts.
